Pediatric Dentistry is a branch of dentistry aimed at protecting and treating the dental health of children from infancy through adolescence. Pediatric dentists play a vital role during children's developmental processes to ensure the healthy development of primary teeth, proper eruption of permanent teeth, and prevention of cavities. Pediatric dentistry includes preventive treatments for children (fissure sealants and fluoride applications), dental caries treatments, and post-traumatic dental care. Due to the high prevalence of dental caries in children at early ages, this specialty aims to help children build tooth brushing habits, provide proper dietary recommendations, and instill oral health awareness. Pediatric dentists use special approaches and techniques to ensure children feel comfortable and safe during dental visits.
