The Occupational Health & Safety Unit is a critical department operating to protect the health of all employees working in our hospital and to ensure a safe working environment. It takes necessary measures to prevent occupational accidents and diseases that may be encountered in the hospital environment, organizes awareness trainings for employees, and establishes a working environment in compliance with legal regulations.
Duties of the Occupational Health & Safety Unit
✅ Risk Assessment and Preventive Measures
Takes necessary measures by analyzing the physical, chemical, biological, and ergonomic risks that employees may encounter within the hospital. Conducts regular field inspections to prevent occupational accidents and diseases.
✅ Emergency Plans and Drills
Ensures advance preparation for emergencies such as fires, earthquakes, and chemical leaks. Establishes emergency teams, organizes drills, and prepares protocols determining how hospital staff should act during crisis situations.
✅ Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Determines appropriate personal protective equipment (masks, gloves, goggles, gowns, etc.) against risks hospital staff may be exposed to, and inspects its usage. Conducts informational activities to ensure that PPE is used regularly and correctly.
✅ Occupational Health and Safety Training for Employees
Organizes orientation training for newly hired staff and offers OHS training to existing employees at regular intervals. Facilitates the adoption of safe working habits in the hospital environment.
✅ Audits and Regulatory Compliance
Performs regular checks within the hospital in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations. Cooperates with official institutions and prepares necessary documentation to ensure compliance with legal obligations.
✅ Health Surveillance and Prevention of Occupational Diseases
Ensures early diagnosis of occupational diseases by conducting regular health screenings of employees. Takes preventive measures regarding infectious diseases within the hospital and informs healthcare staff.
✅ Workplace Safety and Ergonomic Arrangements
Conducts ergonomic analyses to enable employees to work in a safe and comfortable environment, ensuring that work areas are arranged appropriately.
