The Sterilization Unit is a critical department in our hospital that minimizes the risk of infection by ensuring the cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of all medical instruments used. Duties of the Sterilization Unit
✅ Cleaning and Disinfection of Medical Instruments
Prior to sterilization, all used dental and surgical instruments are cleaned using special washing machines and disinfectant solutions to eliminate organic and inorganic residues.
✅ Execution of Sterilization Processes
Cleaned instruments are completely rendered free of microorganisms using autoclaves (pressurized steam), dry heat sterilizers, or chemical sterilization methods.
✅ Sterilization Monitoring and Record-Keeping
Each sterilization cycle is logged to ensure compliance with hospital infection control standards. All supplies used are inspected at regular intervals, and their adherence to quality standards is closely monitored.
✅ Packaging and Storage of Sterile Materials
Sterilized instruments are stored in a hygienic manner using specialized packaging methods and undergo final inspections before being dispatched to clinics for use.
✅ Contributing to the Prevention of Hospital Infections
